What is Coaching
Coaching is a collaborative process between a coach and a client that focuses on generating positive change. At it's foundation, coaching is an ongoing professional relationship that uses focused conversations that empower the client to make changes in their life. A coaching conversation assumes that every situation has possibilities and that people are strong and resourceful rather than helpless or dependent. In coaching, the focus is not on the coach's expertise or advice. The coach's expertise is confined to the process of coaching. The client sets the agenda and the coach makes sure the agenda does not get lost. Ultimately, the coach is there to support and empower the client to clarify their goals, examine possibilities, and keep the client on course.
The coaching relationship
The coaching relationship is based on trust, confidentiality, and mutual respect. In order for you to make significant changes, you need to feel safe enough to speak freely with your coach. Your coach will be focused exclusively on you, what you want, and what you are passionate about.
What is the goal?
The end goal of coaching is to create a way of empowering you to find answers. The coach acts as your thinking partner and enables you to find your own answers, your own way, and will encourage you to realize your own potential.
Reaching your potential means being able to be honest with yourself. Your coach will provide a safe and judgment-free environment that facilitates the process for you to move from your current state and shift towards a more desired future state.
